Paris - Reunion
The three Boeing 777-200 ER of Air Austral, the most up-to-date models in their category can transport up to 18 tons of freight between Paris and Reunion. Our cargo agency is at your service for any enquiries you may have and works in close collaboration with freight handling agents in Paris as well as in Reunion. In Reunion, Air Austral has a special individual service for clients wanting to send personal effects or family parcels to France.
Indian Ocean network
Air Austral having a thorough knowledge of the Indian Ocean market can satisfy any requirement for freight transportation on its routes and especially in pre and post forwarding services. The B737 quick change can be converted into full cargo in less than one hour’s time (16 tons in belly) and increases the freight capacity on the Reunion - Mayotte route as well as on the other Indian Ocean destinations, according to demand.
The excellent connections between the Paris-St Denis and the regional routes allow for optimum freight transportation under the best possible conditions.
History
30 years of history in the Indian ocean sky
- 1975: Birth of Reunion commercial aviation, Mr Gérard Ethève creates Réunion Air Service.
- 1977: RAS inaugurates the first regional air link between Reunion Island and Mayotte with a HS-748 equipped with 32 seats.
- 1986: Reunion Air Service becomes air Reunion.
- October 1990: The airliner activity of Air Reunion is repurchased by SEMATRA with financials partners. The capital is simultaneously opened with Air France, financial institution and locals privates interests.
- November 1990: Air Réunion becomes Air Austral, French regional airline company in Indian Ocean.
- December 1990: Acquisition of the first Boeing 737.
- 1994: Acquisition of the second Boeing 737.
- 1997: Acquisition of the third Boeing 737.
- 2000: Acquisition of an ATR 72-500. Since this date, Air Austral serves South Africa, Comoroes, Mauritius Island, Madagascar (Antananarivo, Tamatave, Nosy-Bé, Majunga), Mayotte and Seychelles Island from Saint Denis International Airport, and Mauritius Island from Saint Pierre Airport.
- June 2003: Air Austral develops its activities towards the long-distance carrier by opening the air link Reunion - Paris Charles de Gaulle, with two Boeing 777-200 ER.
- June 2005: Acquisition of the third Boeing 777-200 ER.
- July 2005 : Opening of a new air link between Reunion and Marseille. Air Austral operates the Boeing 777-200 ER to serve Mayotte.
- November 2005 : Opening of a new air link between Reunion and Lyon (via Marseille).
