Ananda Bhavan is a simple, no frills set-up offering quality South Indian vegetarian snacks and meals. The restaurant has a 70-year history and a number of outlets. The Maharaja Masala Thosai is fit for a king but nicely priced for paupers. There are two along Selegie Road, one at Norris Road and one at Syed Alwi Road.
Ananda Bhavan also has smaller outlets in two food courts at Plaza Singapura and in the basement of Le Meridien. The Tekka Market and Food Centre outlet is the newest and most comfortable.
