Beef Rendang is a definitive Malay Cuisine that many Singaporeans yearn for. Beef cubes, coconut milk, spices and water are slow-cooked until the gravy is almost boiled dry and th meat is almost falling apart.
The finished product, especially the beef, has a full coconut flavour plus a fantastic blend of spices that is sweet, slightly sour, slightly hot with just the right amount of salt. When well-made, this is a very rich dish and goes well with steamed white rice or ketupat.
