Such data is mainly produced for corporate governance, accountability and compliance.

- Interpreting accounts, and using trend and ratio analyses
- Projecting and forecasting financial statements
- Managing the cash flow of the company
- Keeping financial records and preparing year-end financial statements for shareholders
