Islands are very much a facet of our small island republic of Singapore.
Sometimes it's easy to forget that Singapore is in the tropics, so take the opportunity to get offshore and enjoy a little island hopping. Watersports, Nature, Beaches and Theme Parks are major tourist attractions.
The most popular of the outlying islands is Sentosa, which has become a major resort and recreation area over the last few years after its previous life as a military base. Several other islands can be easily reached, ranging from tiny specks like the Sisters' Islands to larger places like St John's Island.
