Punggol

Punggol, a rural village on the northeast, 20km (12 miles) from Changi, has changed so dramatically as to be almost unrecognisable. Its rural landscape is fading rapidly and soon it will become only a memory. The pig farms have been phased out, followed by the Seafood Restaurants along the main Punggol Road and the waterfront facing Johor Strait.
Punggol village has since been turned into a waterfront town called Punggol 21, with private and public housing estates, a coastal promenade, riverine park, and a network of walkways. Two marinas and six recreational "theme" clubs have also been planned to cater to the 86,000 families expected to live here.
